We have a team full of experienced industry professionals and importantly most of our people have worked as brokers for a significant portion of their career. This ensures we understand our members businesses and the challenges they face.

John Lincoln heads up the team and has over 40 years industry experience, he has spent over a decade running insurance broker networks. Roll over their images to find out more about any member of our team.

John Lincoln

CEO

John ran his own retail brokerage which grew to £22m GWP before its sale. He then founded Cobra Network and Group PLC in 2003 and was responsible for driving the business until its sale in 2012 by which time the network was trading in excess of £400m GWP. John was then invited to form Compass in January 2013.

Mark Fisher

Managing Director CLM

Mark’s career spans 35 years and has been spent in a variety of Sales Management, senior Operational and Strategic roles. Before joining Compass, Mark spent 10 years with AIG as National Scheme and Affinity Development Manger. He also held the position of Regional Sales Manager covering the South East. Mark also held the position of Commercial Director at Keelan Westall.

Matthew Clatworthy

Sales Director - London Markets

Matthew has acquired a wide range of expertise during his 20+ years experience in the Insurance Market, the majority of which have been in a senior capacity, including Lloyd’s and the London Markets, Broker Networks, MGA’s and General Insurance Broking. 

Paul Montgomery

Broking Director

Paul’s career spans 27 years in the Lloyd’s and London broking market. He has enjoyed broking and managerial roles throughout his career and spent 10 years at Cobra London Markets, first as Divisional Director then subsequently as Board Director before leaving to join Compass.

Huw Williams

Finance Director

Huw has held a broad range of senior finance roles during his 15+ years experience in financial services.  Prior to joining Compass Huw spent 10 years at Jelf Group plc, initially as Group Financial Controller, then Regional Finance Director of Insurance and latterly as Finance Director of Employee Benefits and Financial Planning.  Huw is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. 

David Parker

Technical Director

David has been with Compass for 20+ years which brings valuable experience to the London Markets team. The role covers various areas of the business including management and operation of facilities and supporting the Lloyds placing team.

David Hargreaves

Divisional Director - Property & Casualty

David has enjoyed a 31 year career in the London Market both in the International and UK arenas. He specialises in the Science and Technology sector and has the responsibility for overseeing and managing the Property/Casualty renewal book of business.

Tony Holland

Divisional Director - Property & Casualty

Tony has spent 30 years in the Lloyds and London Market gaining valuable experience involving business development and broking of UK Property and Casualty risks.

Ross Clifton

Account Executive

Ross has over 13 years Insurance Industry experience in both Retail and Wholesale roles. Prior to joining Compass in April 2013, Ross worked for Towergate London Markets for 5 years placing business within the Lloyds and London Markets for branch and Network brokers.  He play’s for the Arthur J Gallagher football team and has also represented Lloyds FC.

Steve Stenlake

Steve Stenlake

Account Executive

Steve has a wealth of experience in the Lloyd’s and London Markets, specialising in placing complex & difficult to place Liability & Construction risks.

Steve's focus is on developing, managing and underwriting liability & construction related facilities on behalf of several ‘A’ rated London market underwriters & syndicates.

Amy Gardener

Account Executive

Amy has worked in the Insurance Industry for more than 12 years, starting in Lloyds of London and has held positions in both Underwriting and Broking. Amy has experience in Liability and Property Insurances and holds the Pen for various in house binders.

Jodie Keeling

Account Executive

Jodie joined the team in September 2016 and has 7+ years working within the insurance industry prior to this, more recently specialising within the Professional Indemnity sector.

Shelley Herrington

Account Executive

Shelley has 14 years insurance experience and 11 years in the London Market as a Fleet Underwriter for ERS, bringing a strong experienced underwriting knowledge to the team.

 

Tom Simpson

Account Handler

Tom joined Compass, having briefly worked in aviation sales, after attained a 2:1 from Newcastle University in Business and Spanish. He, having achieved his Cert CII in early 2017 is currently studying for his Dip CII. Tom, having first worked a Compass in a technical support role in 2016, is now an Account Handler in the P&C team.  

Martin Faircloth

Divisional Director - Life Sciences

Martin has spent 46 years as a Lloyd’s insurance broker, principally Property and Casualty, both wholesale and direct client servicing. Now specialising in Life Sciences and Medical Malpractice.

Darren Grodent

Divisional Director - Motor Fleet

Darren has 17 years experience in Insurance and 12 years experience in the Fleet London Market. Darren spent 3 years at Carroll London Markets and 8 years at John Holmans and Sons before joining Compass in December 2014 as a Motor Fleet Broker. 

Richard Conolly

Account Executive

Richard has worked in the London insurance market for over 30 years, specialising in the Life Sciences sector for the last 15 years.

Patrick Bartlett

Motor Manager

Patrick has worked in the Lloyds London Fleet Market for over 8 years, working in the underwriting departments for Insurers such as QBE, Amlin and Newline. Outside of the office Patrick is an avid football and snooker follower. 

Chris McAdams

Account Executive

Chris has worked in the London market for over 7 years. With roles at Newline and Willis, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge in broking and underwriting to the team.

Jordan Thomas

Motor Renewals Handler

Jordan started working for the Compass Motor Fleets team in April 2013 dealing with the daily MTA’s for the Giles Branches, before joining the 3rd Party team in June 2014. After a short period at Bond Lovis Insurance Brokers on the Personal Lines team Jordan returned to Compass to work on Motor Fleet Renewals.

Richard Hamill

Account Handler

Richard is relatively new to the insurance world. Previous experience includes working at Indemnity Risk Solutions as an underwriting assistant processing renewal and new business policy’s for solicitors PI. Richard joined Compass in January 2015 dealing with mid term adjustments for the Motor Fleet team.

Rebecca Ridd

Motor Fleet Account Handler

Rebecca has worked in the insurance industry for 11 years at LV & Amlin as a Motor Fleet Underwriting Assistant. Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and going to football matches.  

Cameron Macaskill

Cameron Macaskill

Motor Admin Assistant

Cameron has completed two years of his Business degree at Surrey business school before wanting to gain some experience in the working world, insurance has always been a passion of his and aims to gain his CII qualifications. He is a keen rugby player and enjoys movies.

Theresa Sirr

Sales & Administration Assistant

Theresa has held various Administration /Underwriting Assistant positions for both Miller Insurance Services and Giles Insurance Brokers. Since joining Compass in September 2015, Theresa has been providing support to our Network members and the Sales team. Theresa also provides back up to the Lloyd’s & London Market broking team.

Polly Lewis

Administration Assistant

Polly previously worked for New India Assurance in the Commercial Property team and brings several years of Insurance and Underwriting experience with her. Polly has recently joined the Motor Fleet team.

Annabel Knight

Administration Assistant

Annabel is very new to the insurance industry. She joined Compass in September 2017 after completing her Institute of Leadership and Management courses at a London business college.
