Allianz outlines Coronavirus information for brokers
Our insurer partner, Allianz, has detailed its COVID-19 information for brokers, which as your network, we wanted to ensure we communicated to you:
As the unprecedented situation with COVID-19 continues and the Government takes new measures to delay the outbreak we realise this is a worrying time for everyone, not least our partners and customers. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.
Following the latest Government announcement (23 March), we’ve now closed all Allianz branches across the UK and moved to a working from home policy for all staff wherever possible.
Operationally, this will mean a number of changes but we’re making every effort to continue serving you and your customers through this time.
COVID-19: Unoccupied Premises

Given the current situation, we appreciate that your customers may have had to temporarily leave their premises unoccupied due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
We usually ask that you notify us if the premises are going to be unoccupied for more than 30 consecutive days for Allianz Commercial standard policy wordings, or 45 days for SME wordings. We’re now extending this period to 60 days, so you only need to let us know at the end of the 60-day period if the premises will still be unoccupied. During that 60-day period your customer’s existing cover will remain in place.
If your customer’s premises were already unoccupied before the Covid-19 outbreak, and your customer is unable to meet the terms of our unoccupied conditions due to the current restrictions, please get in touch with your usual Allianz representative.
We’ll continue to review this position as the situation develops.

Our focus is to keep providing you with a normal service as far as possible and so, renewals will continue to be transacted via our usual process though we will look to engage you earlier than usual.
Given the current situation, we do appreciate that there may be disruption affecting the timely communication between us, you and your customer. If you or your customer are unable to effect the renewal in the normal way, we have no intention of leaving your customer without cover.
Please speak to your usual Allianz representative so we can work with you to find the best solution. If that is not possible, we will assume that the policy will renew on the terms invited unless advised otherwise. We will continue to attempt contact with you to secure the relevant information prior to and for 28 days after the normal renewal date.
COVID-19 Policy coverages

Allianz insurance property wordings do not typically extend to cover loss of income or profit from COVID-19-related incidences.
Allianz has already proactively contacted those brokers where we do provide some elements of cover and which may respond to COVID-19 incidences. However, if you have not been contacted or if you have a specific query relating to a policy wording and coverage, please contact your local Allianz branch.
Allianz insurance motor and liability wordings will typically respond where legal liability has been accidentally incurred by the Insured.
Allianz Insurance business travel wordings will typically respond where travel restrictions have been imposed, or repatriation advice has been given by authorities such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
We appreciate that this is a difficult time for you, your business and customers, so we’re looking at how we can best support our customers individually and collectively.
At Allianz we work with a huge variety of businesses and individuals, each exposed to uniquely different risks and now dealing with individual challenges and circumstances. The risks faced by businesses don’t stop with COVID-19 and we’re committed to continue providing your customers with the insurance cover they need and purchased, accepting that the nature of their business may be temporarily changed by the current situation.
We know there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach so we will consider each situation on a case by case basis to see if there is a way in which we can help. We want to assure you that we’re entirely dedicated to continue operating under our high standards and our priority is delivering customer value and ensuring fair outcomes. It’s more important than ever for insurers and brokers to work together to achieve this.

With the situation concerning coronavirus evolving, we’re continuing to support our SME broker partners and customers.
Our two SME locations in Maidstone and Lancaster are open but across both locations, we’re operating at a reduced capacity and we’re adopting a remote working policy that will further progress in line with the Government announcements on 23 March. As we utilise our dual sites, you may see your inbound calls diverted to our wider teams across the SME estate.
Our teams are experiencing a high volume of calls which we’re prioritising. To further support the service we can deliver, we encourage our customers where possible to self-serve via our online QuoteSME website or for all non-urgent queries, please email SBT@allianz.co.uk.
Our priority is to ensure we keep our service delivery going in an appropriately adapted way. As the situation evolves, we will need to prioritise certain elements of our operational and trading capabilities. We will provide updates prior to these changes being implemented.
